This Privacy Policy explains what personal information MealNest AI ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you use our meal-planning service, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
Information We Collect
We collect: (1) account and authentication information (your name, email address, and sign-in method, including if you sign in with Google or Apple); (2) family profile information you provide, including the names and allergy or dietary restrictions of yourself and any family members you add; (3) pantry information, such as the food items you tell us you already have; (4) the meal plans and recipes generated for your account; and (5) payment and subscription information (handled by our payment processor, not stored directly by us) if you subscribe to a paid plan.
How We Use Your Information
We use this information to generate meal plans tailored to your family's restrictions and pantry, to operate and improve the service, to process payments for paid subscriptions, to communicate with you about your account, and to enforce allergy and dietary restrictions as hard rules when generating meal plans.
Family Member Information
If you add a family member to your account, including a minor, you are providing us with that person's information (such as their name and dietary restrictions) on their behalf. By doing so, you represent that you have the authority to provide that information. Family member information is used only to generate meal plans for your household and is treated with the same care as your own account information.
Third-Party Service Providers
We share limited information with third-party providers who help us operate the service: an authentication provider to manage sign-in and account security; a third-party AI service provider, to whom we send the ingredients and restrictions needed to generate a meal plan (not your name or contact information); and a payment processor, to whom we send billing information necessary to process a subscription. Each provider only receives the information necessary to perform its function and is contractually restricted from using it for other purposes.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account page's "Delete my account" option. This immediately and permanently removes your family profiles, pantry data, and meal plans.
Data Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain uses of it. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your Account page, or by contacting us using the information below.
Children's Privacy
Our service is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Information about a minor family member may be provided by an adult account holder as described in "Family Member Information" above.
